Vinicius Spricigo is an Associate Professor in the Department of Art History at UNIFESP and a member of the Politics and Criticism of Contemporary Art Research Group (CNPq). His research focuses on the study of exhibitions, having concentrated, in recent years, on periodic large-scale exhibitions of contemporary art. He conducted postdoctoral research at the Interdisziplinäres Institut für Historische Anthropologie of the Freie Universität Berlin (2012), the Art dans la Mondialisation program of the Institut National d’Histoire de l’Art (2013), and at the Research Center for Transnational Art Identity and Nation at the University of the Arts London (2019-2020). Spricigo holds a PhD from the University of São Paulo School of Communications and Arts. As part of his doctoral studies, he served as a visiting researcher at the Royal College of Art (London, 2007) and at the project Global Art and the Museum (ZKM/Karlsruhe, 2009). He has published extensively on São Paulo Biennial and large-scale contemporary art exhibitions in Brazilian and international journals and contributed to the books Biennial Reader and German Art in São Paulo, both published by Hatje Cantz, among other publications.
